   Dr. Mahmood Hessabi, known as the father of physics in Iran, was born on February 23, 1903 in Tafresh. When he was seven, the family moved to Beirut where he attended school.

During this time, he never gave up trying to learn the Holy Quran by heart. He was also interested in researching into scientific and artistic books while studying at school to develop his knowledge and information.When he was seventeen, he started to read texts in Persian literature.

   After getting his B.A. degree in Art and Science from Beirut University and B.S. degree  

in civil engineering, he could obtain M.S. degree in Mathematics and Astronomy, too. Then, he did his best to continue his higher education at Sorbonne University and at the age of twenty five, he received his Ph.D. in Physics. He was awarded many prizes for his success and developments in scientific researches.

   At the time when 15 thousand people wished to attend Einstein’s class, he had the chance to be one of the five chosen ones and known to be his favorite student. In addition to Persian, he could speak some other languages perfectly, such as English, French, German and Arabic. He knew a little Latin, Greek, Turkish, Italian and Sanskrit. He was chosen as the man of science in the world in1989. He was also teaching in Tehran University as a professor for a long time. He passed away on September 3, 1992. God bless him.
