One major problem for animals is that their natural home is destroyed by humans. Forests and lakes are the most threatened. Trees are cut down for building roads, and lakes are filled in, so more houses are built. When a habitat is destroyed, its animals have nowhere else to go, and thus, their number begins to go down. Another important danger is hunting by humans. Shooting at animals as a sport can bring down the animal population of an area. Because this is a worldwide problem, countries around the world must come together to find a solution to this problem. Some animals may have a large population, so hunting will not endanger them, while others in smaller numbers are in great danger.

Fortunately, some organizations are working hard to recreate natural homes for endangered species to help increase their number. In fact, we all need to take action before it is late. The things we do can affect more than just ourselves.
